A night away from the kiddos turned out to be awesome. Universal- Nelly concert- sharing a hotel room with friends- and then a day at city walk...
I missed them a lot the next day though. It's really not the same going to a theme park without the kids.
Now, I cannot understand why people find enjoyment at a theme park, if they do not have children.
Anyways, Scott and I needed the "night" break though. We are the only couple I know that has not had more than 1 night away EVER, but it's ok. One day... cannot complain. :)
I do think it is important as a married couple to get a break and become yourself again, instead of always being mommy and daddy. Doing this will definately help keep the marriage healthy.

morning madness
So I was told recently that being a stay at home mom is easy.
Funny because I know they are wrong, but I don't even bother to argue because there is no use in arguing with someone who could never have a clue or understand.
My husband is not home at night to help me put the kids to bed. He' s at work everyday (has only called into work times in the past 7 1/2 yrs of us ebing together) and leaves at 3:15pm. -Right when I get home. We do not see each other , except on Sunday (family days).
Or on his other day off, but that day is filled with one on one time with kids, catching up on homework, runnng to stores wihtout kids, and anything else that needs ot be done (oil change, bank runs, dr appointments for us adults)etc.
So here I go:
I wake up this morning, like every other school day morning. Grab the alarm clock (that I wold love to slam against the wall) but since it also happens to be my cell phone, I decide other wise. I sit up in bed and I do not understand HOW the mornings that I get up to take the kids to school, my 1 1/2 yr old is sleeing soundly. BUT, like every Sat. and Sunday, he is up way too early!
I get up and goto the laundry room, where I have everyones clothes prepared and waiting. I grab the clothes and since my 5 and 4 year old already got out of bed, I told them to get in the bath. They both get in the bathroom (no, it wasn't that easy, but it sounded good). First child on the potty - then in the bath. As the second one is going potty, I race to wash my son.. so my daughter can have her time alone in the bath. (plus it makes for less a mess!)
So as I dress one, the other is getting clean. FiNALLY they are both dressed and ready to go.
I pour them their favorite sugar filled cereal - fruity pebbles- and sit them at the table. Now, I go wake up my monster of a tween 12 yr old and hope that I only have to wake him no more than 2 times. He yells at me that he's awake (because getting mad at mommy is what he does best anymore).
I get my 1 1/2 yr olds clothes out and also throw him in the tub (new water by the way). get him dressed and ready...
My 12 yr old has finally risen and he slowly walks to the shower.
Now it's my turn. I quickly shower and dress... 3 mintues.
OK. Done.
Now it's time to start my day.
I load 3 kids on the car. Bring my 5 yr old to kindergarden then I come back home (don't worry this trip makes sense b/c it passes by my road anyways. I pick up my 12 year old son and drop him off at middle school. I then drive down that same road and a few miles and a couple turns(10 minutes) I get to my daughters pre-school. Drop her off.
Ahhhhh.... I look back and see my 1 1/2 yr old smiling his gorgeous smile and I just melt. I finally have some time with my baby boy.
I either: meet for playdates, goto the library, bookstore, park. OR I come home to clean and spend time with him.
2 1/2 hours later I am on the road again. I pick up my daughter from pre-k. Bring her home, make lunch for everyone then put my 1/2 yr old down for a nap, clean up lunch mess. THEN 1 1/2 hours later, I pick up my 5 yr old kindergardener.
(don't forget I have to load my other kids on the car too)
In this time I am changing diapers, making snack, cleaning, laundry, putting away toys for 3 kids, and other chores.
OH and on tues and thurs my husband goes to class, so--- (we'll use thurs)
6:45am - wake up
8:00 am - take first kid to school- drive home
8:50 - take second kid to school
9:00 - take 3rd kid to school
9:15 - take husband to school
9:30-10:40 am-run to target or any other random store I need to get diapers, toilet paper, etc.
10:50 am - pick up husband from school
12:15 pm - pick up my daughter
2:30 pm - pick up my son
So at 3pm, I am usually finally home from a crazy morning.
Then we have snack time, homework, gotta make dinner, etc etc.
Then at 3:15pm - my husband goes to work.
So when anyone wants to tell me that being a stay at home mom is easy, try living one day in my shoes.
Oh and this is not even mentioning school for me.
I am with my kids just about 24 hours a day.
Only one is independent enough to do his own thing. The other three are running around and have things to do ALL the time.
I miss the days of sitting them in jumperoos and bouncys...
Hmm, maybe I still can. LOL
So this is the beginning and birth of my blog-
